Welcome to 2D

Our teacher is Miss Johns.

“I love teaching 2D because they are such thoughtful, kind and hard-working children. We have lots of fun in our learning. My favourite thing about being a teacher at Caldmore is how everyone shows our school values in everything they do. One thing you might not know about me is that I love guinea pigs, and have two of them at home – Tilly and Tiny.”

Our teaching assistant is Miss Beddow.

“I love being the teaching assistant in 2D because the children make me smile and always try hard. My favourite thing about working at Caldmore is how everyone treats each other with kindness and respect. One thing you might not know about me is that I have a cat at home called Lucky. I love to share pictures of him with the children.”

What does our week look like?

Important Reminders

Home reading books will be changed every Wednesday. They should be in school every day.

PE is on Tuesday and Wednesday.

We will visit our wonderful library and change our library books on a Monday.

We do a Spelling Test each Friday.

Remember to check Class Dojo each day for updates, news and reminders.

What Are We Learning?

Maths

Through ‘Maths, No Problem!, we will be exploring money, 2D and 3D shapes, time, and volume. We will work on our fluency in these areas, develop our reasoning skills and apply these skills to problem solving in order to fully master each area.

English

In Reading lessons, we will be reading ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King-Smith. Not only we will be developing our fluency and expression when reading, but also further consolidating our reading skills in retrieving, predicting, sequencing, understanding vocabulary, inference and explaining using a range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
